The location is quiet and rural, on the edge of a small hamlet in the south of the Lugo province. The property is situated at 4 Km. from the main village of Rubian, with necessary amenities and services. You can find the lively historic town of Monforte de Lemos at 23 Km. (25 minutes by car) and the city of Lugo at 45 Km. (40 minutes by car).

Monforte de Lemos became during the Middle Ages an important town in Galicia. Here you can still find many interesting historical monuments. Worth to visit are for example the huge 17th century building of Nuestra Señora de Antigua (well known as El Cardenal, with some paintings of El Greco in a museum), the monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the medieval castle and palace of the counts of Lemos (today a "Parador", by the state owned Hotel), the old Jewish quarter, the convent of "Las Clarisas" with an important museum of sacred art and the lovely medieval bridge over the river Cabe. The city of Lugo (the ancient Roman town of Lucus Augusti) is famous for its Roman Wall, a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2000. The charming old quarter offers also the beautiful cathedral of Santa María (Romanesque , Gothic and Renaissance styles) and many other historical monuments, along with many nice bars, good restaurants, etc.

The property comprises two buildings. The first building of 119 m² per floor has solid, thick stone walls and is divided into two parts. The top floor of the first part has a large barn with an impressive chestnut timber roof structure and a storage on the ground floor. The top floor of the second part was many years ago the old school of the village. On the ground floor of this part of the building is a wine cellar with wooden barrels. A covered courtyard of 70 m² leads to the second building, which is the main living area (50 m²per floor). This area is part of a traditional stone-built house and comprises on the ground floor a henhouse (6 m²), a wine cellar (21 m²) and a stable (30 m²). Exterior stairs leads to the first floor with a hall (6 m²), a bathroom with bath (4 m²), a living / dining room (12 m²) and two bedrooms (12 m² and 12 m²). The house is livable in a simple way, although, it would need for example a new fitted kitchen. The structure is with solid chestnut beams, flooring and under ceiling and the house offers a traditional, rustic character.
