The location is very peaceful in the countryside, with only a few houses in the surroundings. At only 2 Km. you can find in the village of Escairon all necessary amenities and services. The region is the Ribeira Sacra, which literally means "sacred riverbanks", derived from the many churches and monasteries you can find along these banks. These churches and monasteries were founded by religious orders in the middle ages. At 16 Km you can visit the charming medieval town of Monforte de Lemos.
