Location / Vicinity

A perfect scenic location near the amazing shores of the Sil Canyon with its typically terraced vineyards, woods and meadows. The vineyard are producing high quality wines made with Mencia (red) and Godello (white) grapes. These wines are probably the best loved wines in Galicia. At 13 Km you can find the main village of Sober, with some necessary amenities. The charming and lively town of Monforte de Lemos is also located at 13 Km. and offers all necessary amenities, facilities and services, such as a hospital, hypermarkets, all kind of local shops, banks, schools, bars and restaurants. The airport of Santiago de Compostela is located at 1 hour and 45 minutes by car.

During the Middle Ages, Monforte de Lemos became an  important town in Galicia. Here you can still find many interesting historical monuments. Worth to visit are for example the huge 17th century building of Nuestra Señora de Antigua (well known as El Cardenal, with some paintings of El Greco in a museum), the monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the medieval castle and palace of the counts of Lemos (today a “Parador”, by the state owned Hotel), the old Jewish quarter, the convent of “Las Clarisas” with an important museum of sacred art and the lovely bridge over the river Cabe.

You can find cheap flights from the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, etc. to the airports of O Porto (Portugal), Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and A Coruña with Ryanair and Vueling.


The House:
The walls in this house on two floors are partially brick-built and partially stone-built. The house is divided into different parts.
